GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A man charged with his 8th drunk driving offense after police found him passed out in a car, stopped in the middle of an Allouez street, with a blood alcohol level nearly four times the legal limit, was ordered Wednesday to stand trial.
David Greiten, 64, waived a preliminary hearing Wednesday. Arraignment is set for Sept. 22.
Greiten, who had a valid driver’s license, is free after posting the $25,000 cash bond.
According to the complaint, police were called to the 500 block of Simonet Street on June 18 for a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. They found Greiten with “his head laid back and unconscious.”
After being taken to the hospital, he failed several field sobriety tests. He denied that he had been drinking.
At the jail, a preliminary breath test was administered, “which it displayed above .3%,” the complaint states. The usual limit for BAC while driving .08%.
A blood draw was performed for chemical test, but results are not cited in the complaint.
Greiten was convicted of his 7th drunk driving offense in 2011. He was sentenced to three years in prison, and had his license revoked for three years.
He was convicted of drunk driving offenses on May 8, 1991; Aug. 24, 1993; Dec. 20, 1994; April 2, 1997; May 2, 2000; Sept. 6, 2005; and Oct. 10, 2011, the complaint states.
