Myles Schinke is sentenced in Brown County court, Aug. 7, 2025. PC: Fox 11 Online
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Myles Schinke was sentenced Thursday to four years in prison for his role in a drive-by shooting in Green Bay.
Schinke, 19, was previously convicted of being party to first-degree recklessly endangering safety and being a felon in possession of a firearm for the June 9, 2023, shooting.
He was also placed on extended supervision for six years by Judge John Zakowski.
Schinke declined to address the court before the sentence was issued. He is currently housed at the Green Bay Correctional Institution, serving a sentence from an Outagamie County case for battery by a prisoner and possession of a firearm by a felon.
His previous offenses were a factor in the sentence, Zakowski said, but he also noted the strong support from Schinke’s family.
“If you didn’t have any record and you’d be going to prison for shooting a gun into a house, and now, you’ve got all of this?” Zakowski said, holding up Schinke’s conviction record. “See, that’s an aggravating factor. But the court recognizes that you’re young, and that you’ve got good qualities. With everything else the court said, you’re a good person, Miles. But a lot of good people, when they do some stupid things, then there has to be an appropriate punishment.”
Another suspect, Vance Degeneffe, 18, is scheduled to stand trial Nov. 5.
Police believe that the intended target, a 17-year-old boy, was not inside the N. Broadway home at the time of the shooting. Three people were home — a 45-year-old woman, a 38-year-old man and an 11-year-old girl. None of those people were injured.
