WAUPACA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Improvements are coming to a stretch of a Waupaca County highway.
Governor Tony Evers signed a $1.7 million contract to improve WIS 54, between Portage County Line and Foxfire Drive, in the town of Farmington and the city of Waupaca.
Work is scheduled to begin Aug. 8.
Crews will install left and right turn lanes on WIS 54 at the County Q intersection, resurface the highway and install pedestrian curb ramps at Foxfire Drive.
During construction, two-way traffic on WIS 54 will be maintained by flaggers. The north leg and the south leg of the intersection of County Q will be closed for about one week each for construction of the turn lanes.
Construction is scheduled for completion by November 2025. The schedule is dependent on favorable weather conditions and construction progress.
