Green Bay City Hall
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A longtime Green Bay resident is filling a vacancy on the city’s common council.
Jim Ridderbush was selected Tuesday to become the new Alderperson for District 8.
The seat was made vacant by Chris Wery, who resigned last month after more than two decades of service.
Ridderbush currently serves as Vice President of United Food & Commercial Workers Local 1473 and is a Labor Liaison at JBS Green Bay. Ridderbush has also been active in neighborhood associations and civic initiatives, and previously ran for the District 8 seat.
District 8 includes the Marquette Park neighborhood and several west side wards.
Three residents applied for the position: Mark Anderson, Megan Borchardt, and Jim Ridderbush.
Ridderbush will serve the remainder of the current term, which runs through April 2026.
