APPLETON, Wis. — Brody Herr scored seven goals Wednesday to lead the Lawrence University men’s lacrosse team to an 18-7 Northern Athletics College Conference victory over Marian University on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
Herr led a Lawrence attack that posted a 59-21 advantage in shots, and a 51-25 edge in ground balls.
Herr had seven goals and an assist, and Iori Yamada and Peter Kelly had three goals apiece for the Vikings. Robbie Spielmann had five assists and a goal for the Vikings. Gavin Reiter made two saves in the opening half to pick up the win for Lawrence (5-11, 3-8 NACC).
Herr scored three consecutive goals to turn an early 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 lead. Emmett Eischens and Kelly then added goals for Lawrence, and the Vikings led 5-1 after the opening quarter. Lawrence then put together a string of seven consecutive goals, including two by Herr and two from Yamada, to build a 12-4 lead at the half.
Two goals from Herr, two by Kelly and another Yamada opened the third quarter as the Vikings cruised to the win.
Lawrence finished its inaugural season by picking up a pair of conference wins in its last two games.

FOND DU LAC, Wis. — The Lawrence University women’s lacrosse team ended its inaugural season with an 18-4 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference loss to Marian University on Wednesday at Smith Field.
The Sabres (5-12, 2-7 NACC) pulled out to a 5-0 lead after the opening quarter and increased that advantage to 12-2 at the half.
Lawrence (1-12, 0-9) got three goals from top scorer Lydia Lueck, who finished the season with 32 goals. Savannah Larsen picked up the other goal for the Vikings, and Josie Daly added an assist.
Lawrence goalie Evelyn Pryadkin stopped 10 shots, and Sydney Magnuson made seven saves for the Sabres.
