GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A death investigation is underway after a body was recovered from the East River.
According to the Green Bay Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Eastman Avenue around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday following a passerby’s report that there was a body in the water.
The body was pulled from the river about 30 minutes after the initial 911 call. It was that of an adult female who has not been identified.
Officials have not yet determined the circumstances of the woman’s death, but they do not believe the community is in any danger.
Green Bay Metro Fire Department assisted police on scene.
