Mitchell Hirt (Brown Co. Jail)
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A man who allegedly peered into windows of Suamico homes, recording underage girls with his camera, was ordered Friday to stand trial.
Mitchell Hirt, 25, faces 15 charges, including stalking, invasion of privacy, and capturing an intimate representation.
He waived his preliminary hearing Friday. No arraignment date was set, as Hirt is asking for a different judge in the case.
At first, Hirt faced eight counts, but after he admitted he had been doing this for months, prosecutors reviewed the images on his camera, and added more counts.
“Hirt admitted to videotaping several people without their knowledge but could not tell me how many people he videotaped. He stated that he started videotaping people in early November 2024. He stated that he stopped for about one month but then started up again,” the first complaint states. “In Hirt’s phone there are several videos where he is looking through someone’s window. I have not identified the locations and the people in the videos yet.”
The revised complaint includes counts of invasion of privacy, stalking, and capturing an intimate representation without consent. The incidents were in October, November, and December. The targets of the video were mostly teenage girls, including several who at a Halloween party.
The videos include some glimpses of nudity, as well as victims in their underwear and swimming suits.
Several of the victims described to police being “emotionally distressed” by the videos, as well as not feeling safe in their own homes, according to the complaint.
Hirt told police he did not know the people he was recording.
“Hirt admitted that he has a pornography addiction. He stated that he watches porn where people video tape other people without their knowledge through their windows. He admitted that he got sexual gratification from watching that kind of pornography. Hirt stated that he started looking into windows and videotaping people because he wanted to see if he could get the same sexual gratification from doing that as he did when he watched the pornographic videos,” the first complaint states.
