UPDATE 4/21/2025 — The village of Howard has provided an update regarding the recently found three deceased dogs. A wildlife dumping ground with deer, foxes, etc. in all states of decomposition, has been found in Suamico. This dumping ground is believed to be related to two animals found deceased at the Deerfield Docs. However, based on further analysis of the remains and consultation with the DNR, it is now believed that these two animals are canine wildlife and are not domestic pets.
The investigation into the dog found in the shoebox at Pamperin Park is still ongoing.
Dumping of wildlife carcasses is a crime in Wisconsin. If you suspect anyone of violating wildlife law, call or text the 24/7 DNR tip hotline at 1-800-847-9367.

HOWARD, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Officials are investigating multiple incidents of deceased dogs found dumped in the village of Howard.
The most recent discovery happened Sunday night at Pamperin Park where a small elderly dog was found in a Sketchers shoe box, according to the village’s Facebook post.
And earlier, two deceased dogs were found in the brush at the West Deerfield kayak launch. Both are medium-sized with a smaller frame (similar to a whippet) and had tan/white/gray short hair. While they appear to have the same coloring and size, one was significantly longer than the other. One dog would have been placed there around late November/December, and the other likely was there since the end of January.
