GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Additional road closures are coming near Lambeau Field ahead of the approaching 2025 NFL Draft.
As of Sunday, April 13, eastbound lanes of Lombardi Avenue, from Military Avenue to Holmgren Way, are closed.
Area residents, like Debbie Jacques have been giving themselves extra time getting around town.
“Oh, absolutely, so now like going to church today, you know, I left earlier. Getting to Target’s going to take a little bit,” said Jacques. “I think one of the things people need to do is be patient.”
Businesses caught in the areas where roads are being shut down continue to stress that they remain open during these road closures.
“We are still expecting people to kind of make their maneuver around and know that we are still here. It’s kind of exciting to get down close to the stage, people kind of want to see what’s going on,” said Kelsey Stevens, Assistant Manager at Stadium View Sports Bar & Grill.
Additional NFL Draft-related closures from April 23-27 include:
- Holmgren Way (Lombardi Avenue to Mike McCarthy Way)
- Mike McCarthy Way (S. Oneida Street to Holmgren Way)
- Brett Favre Pass/Tony Canadeo Run (Holmgren Way to Badger State Brewing)
Businesses along Holmgren way are preparing for this closure to bring challenges and changes for workers.
“Trial and error as of right now. We don’t really know as close as we can get. A lot of girls live close by and are planning on, you know, walking, riding their bikes,” said Stevens. “Some girls are going to try and carpool or stay over at each others houses just to be a little bit closer to work. We’re hopefully working on some shuttles that we can actually take multiple staff members to and from work.”
For more information, the DOT and Brown County Highway Department recommend downloading the NFL One Pass app. It will have information about road closures, traffic patterns, parking and more, and can help people plan their trip and offer advice on what exits to take.
