(WTAQ-WLUK) — Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue was busy Tuesday morning, responding to two fires almost simultaneously — including one that displaced residents.
The first call came in around 10 a.m. Crews were dispatched to the 700 block of Harding Street in Menasha for a fire on the outside of a home. Firefighters contained the blaze and prevented further extension into the residence.
Officials believe the fire was accidental. The home suffered minor interior smoke damage with moderate external damage to the front of the structure. No injuries were reported.
Later that morning, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue responded to another fire — this time at an apartment building in the 1000 block of W. Cecil Street in Neenah.
Crews arrived on scene to find a stove fire, with moderate black smoke coming from the entry door. The fire was contained to the apartment unit’s kitchen and did not spread to the rest of the building.
This fire is also believed to be accidental. The apartment suffered extensive smoke and fire damage, displacing the unit’s residents. No injuries were reported.
