FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Days after Taylor Schabusiness attacked her attorney during a hearing about her allegedly attacking a prison staff member, another court session has been set for a possible plea in connection with the Taycheedah Correctional Institution assault.
Schabusiness is serving a life term for the murder and dismemberment of Shad Thyrion in Green Bay.
According to the criminal complaint, Schabusiness, 27, needed care from a nurse after falling on a staple, which lodged in her arm. The sergeant — who is labelled “VICTIM” in the complaint — escorted her to the medical room on July 24. That’s when Schabusiness allegedly attacked her.
In court last week, Schabusiness lunged at her attorney, Curtis Julka, before she was subdued by sheriff’s deputies. Julka left the case, and was replaced by attorney Chris Froelich, who represented her at the Brown County murder trial.
Court records show a “plea/sentencing” hearing has been scheduled for May 29 on the battery by a prisoner charge. No other details were filed with the notice.
No plea deal has been reached at this point.
Schabusiness has not been charged with attacking Julka.
This is the second time Schabusiness has attacked her attorney. She attacked Quinn Jolly during a hearing before her trial in the murder case.
