(ST. NORBERT COMMUNICATIONS) MEQUON – St. Norbert College continued Northern Athletics Collegiate Coneference play with a trip hard on the shores of Lake Michigan and dropped a doubleheader to Concordia University Wisconsin by scores of 8-0 and 11-3 at Catalyst Park.
In the opener, the Green Knights scratched out three hits – singles by Zoe Zasada, Ava Engwall and Addison Maurer – as the host Falcons scored three times each in the second and third innings and two more runs in the fourth inning to win a game that lasted exactly one hour. Maurer took the complete-game loss, allowing just three earned runs.
St. Norbert scored first in the nightcap, with Morgan Hansel’s RBI double scoring Grendel Sprong in the top of the second inning. Concordia answered in its half of the frame with five runs. The Green Knights would get two runs back and make it a 5-3 game on Addison Race’s two-run double in the third inning, scoring Engwall and Zasada. The Falcons would pull away with single runs in the third and fourth innings and four runs in the sixth inning.
Engwall had St. Norbret’s lone multi-hit game, going 2-for-3. Amber Johanek took the loss in 2 2/3 innings pitched.
