Short-handed Bucks beat Pelicans

(LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Bucks won a game between two short-handed teams Sunday, edging New Orleans 111-107.

Milwaukee was playing without Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, Pat Connaughton, and the suspended Bobby Portis missed the action.

Four starters were absent for the Pelicans.

Gary Trent Junior scored a season-high 29 points for coach Doc Rivers.

Rivers said the team played well offensively.

And once the defense got going, they took control.

Kevin Porter, Jr., talked about winning without Antetokounmpo.

Trent, Jr., discussed winning 4 straight.

Milwaukee qualified for the postseason Saturday when a second straight triple double by Antetokounmpo provided a 121-115 win overtime against Miami.

The Bucks host Minnesota Tuesday night.
