APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – One person is being treated for serious injuries after they attempted to flee from police following their group being stopped for riding motorized bicycles recklessly.
According to a release from the Appleton Police Department a group of people was riding motorized bicycles “recklessly in traffic” near East College Ave. at Appleton St. Saturday night.
Around 8:45 p.m., while officers interviewed and attempted to identify the group, one person tried fleeing from the scene on their bicycle. They were hit by a passing vehicle.
The individual was taken to a local hospital where they’re being treated for serious injuries.
