APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University women’s lacrosse team ran into a tough Lake Forest College squad and dropped a 23-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference contest on Saturday on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl.
The Foresters (7-4, 4-0 NACC) scored six times in the opening six minutes and were off and running. Lake Forest led 16-0 at the half and tacked on seven second-half goals.
Lake Forest piled up a 42-4 edge in shots, and Jenna Doctor led the way for the Foresters with five goals. The Foresters also had a 21-11 edge in ground balls.
Evelyn Pryadkin made 11 saves in goal for Lawrence (1-7, 0-4).
Men
APPLETON, Wis. — The Lawrence University men’s lacrosse team got off a rough start Saturday against Lake Forest College in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game on Ron Roberts Field at the Banta Bowl, but the Vikings showed a lot of grit in a 19-6 setback to the Foresters.
Lake Forest (7-5, 6-1 NACC) jumped out to a 5-0 lead less than four minutes into the game, but the Vikings battled back to trim the lead to 7-3 early in the second quarter.
The Foresters rallied with four consecutive goals and eased out to a 12-4 lead at the half. Lake Forest led by as many as 13 in the second half.
Iori Yamada led Lawrence (3-8, 1-5) with three goals, and Emmett Eischens added two goals for the Vikings.
Gavin Reiter played the first three quarters in goal for the Vikings and made nine saves. Tyler Graham made six saves in the fourth quarter for Lawrence.
Lawrence finished with 22 shots for the game, and the Vikings collected 29 ground balls, including a team-best six by Zachary Breaux.
