APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An Appleton man pleaded not guilty Thursday to a charge he distributed pornography showing what appears to be an underage girl having sex with a dog.
Erik Sundqvist, 26, is charged with one count of possession of child pornography, and one count of bestiality – distribute sexual contact with an animal material.
No trial date was set, court records show. He returns to court May 27 for a pre-trial conference.
As a condition of his bond, Sundqvist was ordered not to have any contact with animals or unsupervised pets.
According to the criminal complaint, Appleton police were notified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about suspicious material shared through the messaging app Kik. Police recovered multiple files which show a pre-pubescent female engaging in sexual contact with a dog.
“The file also contained chats evidencing the sharing of files depicting bestiality” between Sundqvist and other users, the complaint states.
For example, after another user praises a video, Sundqvist replies, “Glad you do. I’ll have to get more soon, I have quite a few more videos somewhere.”
He tells another person, ” Thank you. Hope to help provide some content in the future.”
According to the criminal complaint:
The Defendant admitted to being active “a little bit” on Kik last year. After speaking about child sexual abuse material, Officer Hughes told the Defendant he would like to speak about the animal stuff. The Defendant confirmed that he has watched animal stuff, and that he started watching 14 years ago., and when asked if there was any chance any videos would be found on his phone, the Defendant responded, “Maybe”, at which point Ofc. Hughes ended the interview.
The complaint does not contain any allegations Sundqvist created any of the file.
