MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Manitowoc Public School District says it has narrowed its superintendent search down to three candidates.
The finalists are:
- Ron Rivard, Principal & Curriculum Director for the Randall Consolidated School District J1
- John Soper, Associate Superintendent of Schools in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee
- Lee Thennes, Interim Superintendent of Manitowoc Public School District
The district Board of Education says the final three were selected from a pool of nine highly qualified candidates.
The Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) is assisting the Board of Education with its superintendent search process.

Final interviews will take place on Friday, April 4, and will include a facilities tour, stakeholder panel interviews (consisting of students, staff, parents, community members, and administrators), and a final interview with the Board of Education.
The Board of Education will appoint a superintendent to fill the position currently held by an interim superintendent, with the official contract scheduled to begin July 1, 2025.
