APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love made good Monday on his pre-season promise to trade touchdowns for cleats.
Last August, Love’s foundation launched an initiative called “10ve for Cleats” and pledged to donate new Nike cleats to youth sports programs across Wisconsin for every touchdown Love ran in or threw during the Packers’ 2024-25 season.
Love notched 26 rushing and passing touchdowns, meaning 26 teams statewide will benefit from his cleats giveaway.
On Monday, Love visited U.S. Venture, Inc. in Appleton to personally hand out the first batch of cleats to Northeast Wisconsin sports teams preparing for their spring sports seasons. That includes Appleton West High School’s baseball team and Franklin Middle School’s softball and soccer teams.
In total, Love and his foundation will donate more than 1,300 pairs of cleats to youth athletes throughout the NFL offseason.
