Rezhun Scott (Brown Co. Jail)
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An April 2 trial remains scheduled for the man who allegedly drove Sienna Pecore away from the fatal traffic crash she caused.
Pecore was 15 at the time of the Oct. 30, 2022 crash on W. Mason Street which killed Cruz Beltron. She had taken her mother’s car without permission and was driving more than 100 mph just before the crash. She was sentenced to nine years in prison.
Rezhun Scott, 23, is charged with being party to hit and run involving death, aiding a felon, and being party to endangering safety.
During a pre-trial conference Monday, attorneys told the court the case is not resolved and the trial will be necessary.
A two-day trial is planned.
According to the criminal complaint, Scott was driving separately from Pecore. After the crash, Rezhun drove her to his apartment, where she stayed the night. He’s identified in the complaint as her boyfriend at the time.
Scott told police he saw the crash, and that he and others tried to help Beltron.
“Scott claimed that he didn’t know that Sienna and (another passenger) had got into his car until after he started to drive away Scott reported that he then did have contact with Sienna’s mother by text and made arrangements for her to pick up Sienna. Scott stated that he didn’t want to get involved and that he didn’t want to be accused of kidnapping Sienna so that is why he contacted Sienna’s mother,” the complaint states.
