
TOWN OF AUBURN, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A landlord sustained life-threatening injuries in an altercation with a tenant, who is facing an attempted homicide charge.
Just before 5 p.m. Tuesday, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Communication Center received a 911 call from a man stating he and his landlord were in a fight and the landlord was having difficulty breathing.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the address in the town of Auburn. There, they discovered the 39-year-old landlord “with significant and life-threating injuries.” The victim was taken to Froedtert West Bend Hospital, then flown to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.
Officials say the victim has “significant head and brain injuries and is currently medically sedated.”
According to a news release, detectives on scene recovered evidence and probable cause to determine the caller, a 39-year-old male who resided at town of Auburn residence, “was the aggressor and responsible for causing the substantial injuries.”
He is currently in custody at the Fond du Lac County Jail. A charge of first-degree attempted homicide is being forwarded to the District Attorney’s office and more charges may be forthcoming, the sheriff’s office says.
