GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Nine Green Bay-area breweries are coming together to create a special beer for the NFL Draft.
When the NFL Draft comes to town in April, football fans are encouraged to try 8th Round Downtown Pale Ale, a hoppy and refreshing hazy pale ale.
The experimental HBC 1019 hop was chosen along with Citra and Simcoe for a blend of grapefruit, pine, and peach flavors on top of a silky-smooth body.
“Whether you’re making it or tasting it, local craft beer is best enjoyed with friends,” said Green Bay mayor Eric Genrich. “Cheers to our area breweries for coming together to celebrate this once- in-a-lifetime event with a one-of-a-kind product for locals and visitors to enjoy!”
Participating breweries include:
- Ahnapee Brewery
- Badger State Brewing Company
- Cocoon Brewing Company
- Copper State Brewing Co.
- Hinterland
- Noble Roots Brewing Company
- Stillmank Brewing Co.
- Titletown Brewing Co.
- Zambaldi Beer
The beer will be available in the greater Green Bay area during draft week as well as at Draft City Music Fest, a free music festival happening during the draft at Leicht Memorial Park in Green Bay.
Draft City Music Fest is part of Touchdown Downtown events, an initiative to get people to check out downtown Green Bay during the draft.
