GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Tatiana Quinones was sentenced Friday to eight years in prison for selling fentanyl pills at an east-side daycare center.
Quinones, 22, previously pleaded no contest to delivery of fentanyl near a youth center, and possession of fentanyl with intent to deliver.
She was also placed on extended supervision for ten years by Judge Beau Liegeois.
Before the sentence was issued, Quinones apologized for her “horrible decision.”
“I first would like to sincerely apologize to the community and the parents of the children whose lives I put in danger. Parents shouldn’t have to worry about caretakers endangering their children,” she said.
The state requested an eight-year prison term, while Quinones’ attorney suggested a three-year prison term.
Quinones worked at Green Bay Academy, located at 2280 Finger Road. The state Department of Children and Families revoked the center’s license, citing several violations, including staff-to-child rations, group sizes, mixed-age groups, and Quinones’ actions.
According to the criminal complaint, an undercover informant arranged the purchase of 50 fentanyl pills for $350. Quinones allegedly met the informant in the parking lot Jan. 3, 2024, and completed the drug deal. Quinones was arrested the next day.
