(ST NORBERT COMMUNICATIONS) DE PERE – St. Norbert College pulled away early against Concordia University Wisconsin, holding a double-digit lead for most of the contest in a 56-38 win in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Mulva Family Fitness and Sports Center.
The Green Knights (10-3, 5-0 NACC) were never troubled by the Falcons, putting distance between their opponent early. St. Norbert started the game on a 10-0 run, with the first three field goals of the first quarter coming from beyond the arc from Rose Hahn, Kalina Winslow and Taylor Thiry (pictured). The Falcons did respond with three 3-pointers of their own and cut the lead to three, with the 12-9 scoreline being the closest the visitors would get to the lead.
St. Norbert was looking to hold a 12-point lead going into the half after a Hahn three with 1:08 left in the second quarter. The Falcons would get a lifeline off an Ava Booth three at the buzzer, with the Green Knights leading 30-21 at the break.
Thiry started the second half on fire, scoring the first seven points for the Green Knights in the third quarter to grow the lead to 37-23 with 6:46 remaining. In total, she scored eight of St. Norbert’s 12 points in the period.
The fourth quarter put an exclamation point on the victory, as St. Norbert extended its lead to nearly 20 points.
St. Norbert shot 43.1 percent (22-for-51) from the floor. Thiry led the Green Knights with 17 points and nine rebounds. Emma Morrisey had nine points, while Hahn had eight.
Concordia Wisconsin shot 31.3 percent (15-for-48) from the floor. Aubrey DeBauch led the Falcons with 13 points.

Concordia 75, St. Norbert 72
MEQUON – A cold-shooting second half spelled defeat for St. Norbert College in a 75-72 setback at the hands of Concordia University Wisconsin in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Buuck Fieldhouse.
The Green Knights held a 39-31 halftime lead but then shot 9-for-30 (30 percent) in the second half as the Falcons pulled ahead in the final 10 minutes.
St. Norbert opened up its biggest lead of the game at 12 points twice early in the second half, the latter at 45-33 with 18:12 remaining. The Falcons got to within three points at 52-49 with 12:43 to go and eventually pulled ahead with four free throws with 9:04 left for a 58-54 lead. Concordia led 70-60 with 2:16 to go before a wild final two minutes. A 7-0 run got the Green Knights to within 70-67 with 57 seconds to go. A pair of free throws and then a 3-pointer got the Green Knights to within one with 7 seconds left. Concordia got two free throws for a three-point lead, and St. Norbert was fouled with under a second left on a 3-pointer, but missed the last of the three free throws.
The Green Knights shot 40 percent (22-for-55) from the floor for the game and was 17-for-25 (68 percent) from the free-throw line. Garrett Grzesk led St. Norbert with 19 points, while Connor Pytleski added 13 points.
Concordia shot 53.2 percent (25-for-47) from the floor and was 14-for-22 (63.6 percent) from the field in the second half. Casey Verhagen scored 26 points, while Logan Landers added 22 points.
