(WTAQ-WLUK) – A former Fond du Lac restaurant owner pleaded not guilty Monday to federal arson and fraud charges in connection with a 2021 fire.
Arletta Allen, who also had served on the Fond du Lac city council, faces four counts for the Oct. 10, 2021, fire at A Family Affair Soulfood Kitchen, 417 S. Main Street.
A March 24 trial date was set before a federal judge in Milwaukee, court records show.
The federal indictment alleges she set the fire, then allegedly collected a $160,000 insurance payment, falsely signing a document saying she did not cause the fire.
