MANITOWOC, WI—Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center’s events and café get a fresh perspective with the addition of two team members. Andrew Hazeu, a Sheboygan area chef specializing in farm-to-table cuisine, joins Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center as the Food and Beverage Manager. With an impressive culinary background and a passion for farm-to-table dining, Hazeu is set to bring fresh and innovative flavor to the Wisconsin Café.
“Andy’s background is exactly what we needed at Farm Wisconsin,” says Farm Wisconsin executive director Patty Lehn. “I’m such a fan of his culinary creations, and his excitement to contribute to Farm Wisconsin’s mission is already having an impact.”
Working in tandem with Hazeu, Farm Wisconsin also welcomes Hayley Remmel to the newly created role of hospitality manager. In this role, Remmel oversees all guest experiences for rental events, group tours, field trips and daily activities. Remmel, an Appleton native and Kiel resident, joins Farm Wisconsin with diverse event management experiences, most recently spending four years as catering manager at Renard’s Catering in Green Bay.
“In addition to Hayley’s depth and range of experience, I’m excited about the organizational skills she brings to this position,” says Lehn. “She just started, but hit the ground running, getting her arms around the details of the events on our schedule, adding efficiency to our processes already.”
Hazeu, a Sheboygan native, began his culinary journey at Le Cordon Bleu Institute of Culinary Arts in Dallas, Texas, where he earned his Associate of Applied Science degree. Since then, Hazeu has worked in the culinary field for twenty years at various establishments.
Most recently, Hazeu worked within the Stefanos Restaurant Group in Sheboygan, including the Duke of Devon, Field to Fork Café and Grocery and Stefano’s Slo Food Market, renowned for simple, creative dishes crafted from locally-sourced ingredients and in-house products. Over the years, Hazeu has earned the nickname “Soup Master” for crafting exceptional homemade soups.
“I’m excited to share my passion for cooking through dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients,” said Hazeu. “Equally important to me is educating customers of all ages about where great food originates. I hope to inspire a deeper appreciation for the journey from farm to table and the hardworking farmers who make it possible.”
Under Hazeu’s leadership, visitors can anticipate fresh, seasonal menus and weekly specials highlighting Wisconsin’s agricultural richness.
