FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Authorities are investigating a late-night New Year’s Eve shooting in Fond du Lac.
Just after 11:45 p.m., the Fond du Lac Police Department was dispatched to the the area of S. Brooke Street and Western Avenue for a report of gun shots.
Witnesses told police they saw two vehicles in the roadway and “believed that shots had been fired from at least one vehicle in the direction of the other vehicle.” The vehicles fled the scene before officers arrived.
FDLPD says bullet holes were located in a nearby residence, but no one inside the home was injured.
Video footage of the incident is being reviewed. Police are also working to process evidence and conduct neighborhood canvasses.
“Preliminary information and surveillance camera evidence suggest this shooting is an isolated and targeted incident,” FDLPD Chief Aaron Goldstein said, in part, in a news release.
