KAUKAUNA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Kaukauna company says it’s doing its best to mitigate the spread of norovirus as it’s experiencing an outbreak among residents.
Cases of norovirus/acute gastroenteritis are surging across the nation and at nursing home and assisted living facilities St. Paul Home and St. Paul Villa in Kaukauna.
At this time, the facilities are not restricting visitation but it is highly discouraged until further notice.
For those who do choose to visit, it’s highly recommend masking to prevent the spread of respiratory illness on top of this stomach virus. Keep in mind that hand sanitizer is not effective against norovirus and that visitors’ hands must be frequently washed with soap and water for at least 20 seconds to ensure hand hygiene.
