TWO RIVERS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An early Sunday morning fire at a two-family house in Two Rivers caused over $100,000 in damage.
The Two Rivers Fire Department was dispatched to a house on East River St. just after 3 a.m. Crews arrived to heavy smoke and fire in the second-story residence. The second floor sustained heavy fire and smoke damage while the first floor had smoke and water damage.
The upstairs residents reported minor injuries & smoke inhalation but refused treatment & transport. No other injuries were reported.
All of the occupants are being assisted by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The City of Two Rivers Fire Department reminds residents that working smoke detectors are essential to early notification of a fire and should be checked twice a year.
