GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Green Bay and the Brown County Tavern League are teaming up to tackle transportation for the upcoming NFL Draft week.
On Friday, the partnership introduced their free shuttle system that will offer free transportation to and from various locations throughout Green Bay area from April 23-27.
Forty, 15 passenger vans will run six different routes throughout the Green Bay area with key stops at local areas of commerce, bars/restaurants, and nearly 40 local hotels in an effort to reduce drunk driving during the event.
Exact routes and stops are not known at this time but will provide transportation to and from the NFL Draft from all around Green Bay, Howard-Suamico and De Pere.
When operational, passengers will be able to find a route near them using the One NFL Pass app and Discover Green Bay’s website.
The shuttle system, funded primarily through the Tavern League’s SafeRide program with additional local support, will help reduce traffic congestion and enhance the experience for draft attendees, ensuring safe and easy access to popular destinations throughout the region.
The shuttle service is looking for van drivers. The pay is $20 per hour, not including gratuity. Drivers can apply on the Tavern League’s website.
The Tavern League of Wisconsin’s SafeRide program provides 50,000 free rides each year throughout the state. In Brown County alone, it provides around 4,000 rides each year.
