(MARQUETTE COMMUNICATIONS) MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women’s basketball team won their fifth game in a row Tuesday night by defeating Indiana State, 83-67.
The Golden Eagles (5-2, 0-0 BIG EAST) were led by Halle Vice, who had a career-high 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting with nine rebounds and four assists.
Lee Volker stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, a career-high tying eight rebounds, career-high five assists, and three steals. Olivia Porter had 11 points, five boards and a career-high tying three 3-pointers.
Jaidynn Mason had a Marquette career-high 12 points and six assists. Skylar Forbes was the fifth Golden Eagle in double figures with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Marquette led wire-to-wire and were up by as many as 26 in the second half. The Golden Eagles had 22 fast break points to the Sycamores’ two.
Indiana State (2-5, 0-0 MVC) were led by Chloe Williams, who had 15 points and seven boards.
NOTABLES:
- Marquette had five players score in double figures for the first time since Feb. 22, 2024 at Xavier.
- Skylar Forbes scored in double digits for the sixth time in seven games this season.
- Halle Vice had her third double-digit scoring output of the season and second in the last two games.
- Marquette had a season-high 22 assists on 32 made baskets.
- The Golden Eagles made a season-high 10 3-pointers.
- Marquette is now 4-1 in the all-time series. The programs hadn’t met since the 2014 WNIT.
