(WIAC) – Logan Pearson, a senior from Kimberly and currently a forward for the UW-Platteville Pioneers has been named the WIAC men’s basketball player of the week for he week ending Dec 1.
He averaged a team-high 19.7 points per game, while posting a shooting split of 61.3/50.0/93.8 as the Pioneers went 3-0 during the week with wins over Augustana College (Ill.), Heidelberg University (Ohio), and Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.).
He opened the week with 11 points and a season-high seven assists across 20 minutes as UW-Platteville rolled to a 77-50 win over Augustana. Pearson then scored 17 points with four rebounds and three assists against Heidelberg before producing a 31-point effort in a 65-52 victory over Gustavus Adolphus on Nov. 30.
He finished 10-of-15 from the field against the Gusties and added six rebounds, while going a perfect 9-of-9 from the free throw line. Pearson also moved into second in program history with 1,700 career points scored, and sits just 163 points away from the all-time mark.
