(WTAQ-WLUK) — Two people were arrested and a 15-year-old was detained after leading authorities on a high-speed chase in Brown and Manitowoc counties in a stolen vehicle.
It all started around 7:40 p.m. Sunday when Manitowoc County deputies were alerted to a stolen car traveling southbound on I-43 from Brown County.
The vehicle was spotted north of U.S. Highway 10 and a pursuit ensued. Deputies deployed spike strips near County Road JJ, stopping the car on I-43 at the County Road JJ off-ramp.
All three occupants got out and tried to run away. All three were later captured:
- A 57-year-old man from Milwaukee was detained in a nearby field
- A 15-year-old juvenile from Green Bay was also detained in the same area
- A 18-year-old man from Milwaukee, identified as the driver, was located by a drone and taken into custody east of Neuser Drive
The 15-year-old juvenile was referred to juvenile authorities and released to a parent.
The 57-year-old was released after posting bail for allegedly obstructing an officer.
The 18-year-old driver is being held at the Manitowoc County Jail on multiple charges, including knowingly fleeing an officer, operating a vehicle without owner consent and resisting/obstructing an officer.
The pursuit covered approximately 3.6 miles.
This case remains under investigation.
