GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Kids can help Green Bay firefighters this winter in a task that comes with sweet rewards.
The fire department is launching its annual “Hydro Helpers” program, encouraging children to adopt a local fire hydrant.
Their mission is to keep the hydrant clear of snow all winter and report any damages.
For their work, kids will receive hydrant-shaped cookies and appreciation certificates from Uncle Mike’s Bake Shoppe.
The program is available to residents in the city of Green Bay, village of Allouez and village of Bellevue.
