ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A holiday favorite is back in Ashwaubenon this year with some changes.
The National Railroad Museum’s Festival of Trees is back with nearly 70 Christmas trees decorated by Green Bay-area nonprofits, small businesses and individuals.
This year the National Railroad Museum changed the event to “invite-only”. Prior to this year organizations and individuals could donate to the museum and have a tree displayed; it was open to everyone.
Last year The Satanic Temple was one of 66 trees in the annual festival. It lead to the public calling for the tree’s removal, the Stop Derailing Christmas Coalition to ask sponsors to oppose the museum and Festival Foods allegedly withdrawing its sponsorship.
Visitors can enjoy trees with all sorts of colors, lights, themes and decorations this year. The festival opened over the weekend, and closes Sunday, Jan. 5.
For a list of museum hours and days visit their website. Note that their hours do shift depending on the day, month and if it’s a holiday.
