APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man died in a shooting in Appleton over the weekend. The suspect is in custody.
Police say on Sunday, around 7:30 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance with a weapon in the 1800 block of S. Sanders Street.
When officers arrived, they found 74-year-old Daniel Juedes Sr. with gunshot wounds. Lifesaving measures were taken but the man was pronounced deceased.
An autopsy was conducted Monday morning at the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Later Sunday, police took 45-year-old Gregory Juedes of Kaukauna into custody on recommended first-degree intentional homicide, as well fleeing an officer and resisting/obstructing an officer.
No formal charges have been filed. Juedes is expected in court Tuesday.
