GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Taylor Schabusiness’ attorney did not find any grounds to file an appeal challenging her conviction for the murder and dismemberment of Shad Thyrion, according to a court document.
Schabusiness was sentenced to life in prison with no chance at parole, plus another 10.5 years after that, for the Feb. 22, 2022, murder of Thyrion at a west side Green Bay home. The jury rejected her insanity defense.
The appeals portion of the case was assigned to attorney Greg Petit, who filed a notice with the court Thursday.
“The undersigned attorney intends to file a No-Merit Report,” he wrote.
According to state statute, the no-merit report shall identify anything in the record that might arguably support the appeal and discuss the reasons why each identified issue lacks merit.
The report is expected to be filed by March 24, the letter says.
