INDIANAPOLIS – University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and UW-Platteville have received invitations into the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship.
UW-Eau Claire secured an automatic bid into the 64-team field after winning the WIAC Tournament (presented by Culver’s) and will host regional action Nov. 15-16. The Blugolds will open against Lake Forest College (Ill.) (10-7-3) with the winner facing either Hope College (Mich.) (13-2-3) or DePauw University (Ind.) (10-4-6) in the second round. UW-Eau Claire is making its third consecutive NCAA appearance and advanced to the “Sweet 16” a year ago.
UW-Platteville (13-2-3) claimed one of 21 at-large spots and will travel to St. Peter, Minn., for regional matches Nov. 16-17. The Pioneers will meet North Central College (Ill.) (10-5-5) in the first round with the winner facing Gustavus Adolphus College (15-1-3) or Milwaukee School of Engineering (12-3-6). UW-Platteville is making the seventh NCAA appearance in program history and third straight.
All regional winners will advance to sectional action Nov. 23-24. The semifinals and championship will be conducted Dec. 5 & 7 in Las Vegas, Nev.
UW-La Crosse Headed To St. Louis For NCAA Women’s Soccer Regional: University of Wisconsin-La Crosse has received a bid into the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship and will travel to St. Louis for regional matches Nov. 16-17.
UW-La Crosse (16-3-2) secured an automatic bid into the 64-team field by winning the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament (presented by Culver’s). The Eagles will face Simpson College (Iowa) (14-2-3) in the first round. The winner will meet Washington University in St. Louis (17-0-2) or DePauw University (Ind.) (12-5-3) in the second round. UW-La Crosse is making its seventh NCAA appearance – and fourth straight – and has advanced to the “Elite Eight” two of the last three seasons.
All regional winners will advance to sectional action Nov. 23 & 24. The semifinals and championship will be conducted Dec. 6 & 8 in Las Vegas, Nev.
