GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Ahead of Monday’s Veterans Day holiday, the Green Bay Yachting Club proudly hosted its annual Veterans Day commemoration tradition.
The event is one of Northeast Wisconin’s largest Veterans Day salute, with hundreds gathering to hear the Star-Spangled Banner, witness the three-volley salute, bagpipe honors and the raising of the American flag.
Veteran services were also available during the event.
Yacht club members say the annual tradition is their humble way of giving back to those who have already given so much of themselves.
“It’s important for the public to know that people have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice,” says Dan Laubenstein with the club. “It’s just our way of saying thanks to the vets who make this country possible.”
This year marked 20 years of the Green Bay Yachting Club hosting the event.
