APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Voters continue to see delays in some Wisconsin communities on the second day of early in-person voting.
The city of Appleton says it is continuing to experience delays with a statewide computer system, causing longer lines and wait times.
The Wisconsin Elections Commission said on Tuesday that the lag with the WisVote system was resolved after staff members increased its capacity.
The WEC said in a statement Tuesday:
Clerks use WisVote to print a label that can be placed on the outside of in-person absentee certificate envelopes.
The same information can be affixed on the outside of the envelope manually with a pen.
Today’s system lag was purely related to demands on the WisVote system due to high turnout.
This should not prevent any voter’s ability to vote in-person absentee today.
Around noon, voters in line in Appleton say they waited about 45 minutes to vote.
