(BIG EAST) NEW YORK – Freshmen goalkeeper Marten Brink of the Marquette men’s soccer program was honored by the BIG EAST for the third time this season. Brink has been named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week for the week ending October 20, following a 0- 0 draw at Xavier.
The Stukenbrock, Germany native faced 18 shots and tallied four saves on the night and recorded his fifth career clean sheet in the match vs the Musketeers.
In the 27th minute the Golden Eagles were shown a red card resulting in the Blue and Gold to play the remainder of the match with 10 players.
Despite being a man down and Xavier’s aggressive play ramping up, Brink managed to not give up a goal in the contest.
The Golden Eagles are back in action at DePaul on Wednesday, October 23 at 2:00 pm CT at Wish Field in Chicago, Ill.
