(247NEWSSOURCED) – The Kansas City Chiefs are headed to the Bay to battle the San Francisco 49ers in a Super Bowl rematch on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium.
The Chiefs come out of their bye week one of just two teams in the NFL still undefeated at 5-and-0.
KC knocked off New Orleans 26-13 in Week Five for its 11th straight win overall, including the playoffs.
The Chiefs haven’t skipped a beat despite losing offensive stars Isiah Pacheco and Rashee Rice.
In his second game since rejoining KC, Kareem Hunt rushed for 102 yards in their win over the Saints.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes says they will have to bring their best game to beat the tough 49ers.
Mahomes on facing the 49ers again after two Super Bowl showdowns in recent years.
The Niners have also had some extra time to prepare following their 36-24 win over the Seahawks on Thursday Night Football last week.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid says the 49ers have an elite defense that begins up front.
Brock Purdy has been solid so far as the third-year pro currently ranks second in the NFL with 1,629 passing yards.
Purdy says it’s great to see rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall back after getting shot.
Purdy says they aren’t trying to get revenge on the Chiefs.
The Chiefs have won four straight meetings with the 49ers, including victories in Super Bowl’s 58 and 54.
