McManus to debut with Packers on Sunday

(WNFL/LEARFIELD) – The Green Bay Packers new kicker Brandon McManus will make his debut with the team on Sunday against the Houston Texans.

Packers special teams coach Rich Bisaccia talked about the difference in having a veteran kicker like Brandon McManus.

Bisaccia added that McManus won’t kick inside Lambeau Field prior to Sunday’s game

The Packers and Texans will kick off at noon on Sunday at Lambeau Field.

Notes to know: This will be the sixth regular-season meeting between the clubs since the Texans entered the NFL as an
expansion team in 2002.

• The first matchup between the Packers and Texans was a Sunday night game at Reliant Stadium in Houston in 2004, and Green Bay won, 16-13.
• The Packers have won four of the five contests played in the series; the only loss came in 2008 when the Texans won, 24-21, in Green Bay.
• Green Bay has won the last three games played, aver- aging 32.7 points per game over that span.
• The last time the 2 teams met was Oct. 25, 2020 at NRG Stadium and the Packers won, 35-20.
• Packers QB Aaron Rodgers completed 23 of 34 passes for 283 yards and four TDs.
• Packers WR Davante Adams led the team with 13 receptions for 196 yards (15.1 avg.) and two TDs.
• Texans QB Deshaun Watson connected on 29 of 39 passes for 309 yards and two TDs.
