(HORIZON LEAGUE) INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced on Wednesday the 2024-25 Under Armour women’s basketball preseason poll. Green Bay was picked to finish second with 114 total votes.
Cleveland State, who fell to the Phoenix in the Horizon League Championship game, was voted to finish first with 117 votes. Natalie McNeal was selected to the Preseason All-League First Team after a sensational 2023-24 campaign. Bailey Butler and Maddy Schreiber were tabbed to the Preseason All-League Second Team.
The Green and White return 77 percent of its roster from last year (10 of 13), with senior guard Miah Meyer (Monahan), sophomore guard Julianna Ouimette, and junior guard Ellie Buzzelle representing the newcomers. Green Bay will be a veteran-heavy team, as nine of the 13 rostered student-athletes are junior or senior status.
Less than two weeks after Kevin Borseth’s retirement in mid-April, Green Bay hired former Phoenix women’s basketball player Kayla Karius (Tetschlag) to begin the program’s new chapter. Karius retained Sarah Bronk as Assistant Coach before adding Allie Alexander (LeClaire), another former Phoenix basketball player, Kate Peterson Abiad, Liz Oswald, and Shay Frederick to the staff.
Season tickets and individual tickets are on sale now. The 2024-25 promotional schedule will be announced soon. Below are the complete preseason poll results.
