MARINETTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Alexis Clark was convicted for the crash which killed a bicyclist on the Interstate Bridge. Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 3.
Clark, 25, pleaded no contest Monday to hit and run involving death for the July 2023, crash. A count of homicide by use of a vehicle while using a controlled substance was dismissed, court records show.
She must pay $7,950.91 of restitution before the sentencing hearing.
David Fournier, 48, died as a result of the crash.
According to the criminal complaint, police used security camera video to track down Clark. She told police she ran over some rubbish on the road and kept going.
An initial blood test was done, which showed no alcohol in her system. Results of a second blood test were returned March 1, and showed Clark had cocaine in her system, according to the complaint.
Unlike alcohol, which state law has permissible amounts for driving, there is no allowable limit for illegal drugs, such as cocaine, and can result in the homicide by vehicle with use a controlled substance charge.
