(247NEWSSOURCE/LEARFIELD) – Jackson Chourio and Garrett Mitchell led the Milwaukee Brewers to a 5-3 victory over the New York Mets in Game Two of their National League Wild Card Series at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old Chourio had two home runs, including a game-tying solo home run in the eighth inning.
Mitchell had a go-ahead two-run home run to cap off a three-run eighth.
Mitchell spoke about on his 8th inning at-bat.
Mitchell talked about seeing Willy Adames reach base just ahead of him.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that the team got a lot of contributions.
Reliever Joe Ross got the win and Devin Williams secured the save.
Francisco Lindor, Brandon Nimmo and Francisco Alvarez drove in runs for the Mets in the defeat.
Reliever Phil Maton took the loss.
Willy Adames said that the team needs to keep things rolling tonight.
The series is tied at one game apiece with the third and deciding game of the series Thursday night in Milwaukee. d
Tobias Myers who is 9-6 with a 3.00 ERA will get the start for the Brewers.
Jose Quintana starts for the Mets. Quintana is 10-10 with a 3.75 ERA.
