(WNFL) – There are 7 divisions in high school football and this week, according to the Wissports.net coaches poll, 3 teams are ranked No. 1 from this corner of the world.
In Division 1, the Kimberly Papermakers are ranked No. 1. Interestingly, 7 of the top 10 teams in Division 1 are from southeast Wisconsin.
In Division 2, Slinger is ranked No. 1 with Kaukauna checking in at No. 5 with West De Pere ranked eighth.
Notre Dame which won a wild hard-hitting game last Friday night against Menasha is ranked No. 1 in Division 3.
West Salem is ranked No. 1 in Division 4 with Freedom and Winneconne ranked seventh and eight, respectively.
In Division 5, Wrightstown is the top-ranked team with Kiel ranked sixth.
Dropping down to Division 6, Regis has the No. 1 spot. The Ramblers are followed by the Coleman Cougars with Bonduel ranked tenth.
In Division 7, Potosi/Cassville is ranked No. 1.
In 8-man football, Owen-Withee is ranked No. 1 while Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas and Wausaukee is ranked sixth and tenth, respectively.
Boys soccer: It’s unusual to see this in the Division 1 and 2 Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association rankings for boys soccer.
No area team is ranked in Division 1 or 2. Brookfield East is ranked No. 1 in Division 1. Cedarburg is ranked No. 1 in Division 2.
In Division 3, Xavier is ranked fourth, down a spot from last week. St. Augustine Prep is ranked No. 1.
In Division 4, Shoreland Lutheran is the top-ranked team with Sturgeon Bay ranked fifth.
Girls volleyball: Just like last week Divine Savior Holy Angels is ranked No. 1 in Division with Bay Port the only northeast Wisconsin team ranked in the top 10. The Pirates are ranked sixth with Kaukauna getting honorable mention status.
In Division 2, Luxemburg-Casco and Fox Valley Lutheran are ranked 1-2 with Oconto Falls ranked sixth. Waupaca and Winneconne are ranked eighth and tenth, respectively. Shawano gets honorable mention.
No area teams are ranked in Division 3. Cuba City is ranked No. 1.
In Division 4, Living Word Lutheran is ranked No. 1 with Wabeno/Laona ranked fifth.
Division 5 finds Eau Claire Memorial in the top spot. NEW Lutheran is ranked fourth with Florence seventh and Niagara getting honorable mention.
Girls golf rankings: WIAA golf regionals are underway with some teams seeing their season come to an end.
Here are the Week 5 rankings for Division 1 and Division 2.
In Division 1, Kaukauna and Bay Port are ranked 6 and 7 with Seymour and Marinette ranked fourth and fifth, respectively, in Division 2.
