(WTAQ-WLUK) — Five products made in Northeast Wisconsin are among the top 16 in the annual “Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin” contest.
Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce announced Wednesday the 16 products advancing to the first round of competition. Nearly 40,000 votes were cast for 130 nominated products, WMC says.
These 16 products are set to compete in Manufacturing Madness — a head-to-head tournament-style bracket — to determine a champion. Products from Northeast Wisconsin are bolded in the list below.

#8 Seed: Southpaw Rod Holders – Classic Gears and Machining, Denmark
#9 Seed: Custom Built Metal Benches – Production Grinding & Machining, Monroe
#10 Seed: X739 Signature Series Lawn Tractor – John Deere, Horicon
#11 Seed: Revo – Vulture Systems, Menomonee Falls

“Not only do these products represent the diversity of things made in Wisconsin, they represent the high-tech, high-skill and high-wage career opportunities found in the manufacturing sector. The Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin contest engages the public with the great work being done by our state’s manufacturers, “WMC’s Vice President of Communications & Marketing Nick Novak said in a news release.
Last year’s winner was the Bevi Bottleless Water Dispenser, manufactured by Plexus Corporation in the Fox Valley.
