DAIRY NEWS – A new two-day program presented by Professional Dairy Producers® (PDP) is designed to give forward-thinking dairy businesses the skills and strategies to transform their operation into a professionally-managed, high-performing enterprise. The Business Management & Advanced Finance Workshop is a high-impact course that will delve into advanced financial management, HR management and family business governance strategies crucial to success in today’s ever-changing dairy industry.
The workshop will be held Wed., Oct. 30, and Thurs., Oct. 31, at Compeer Financial in Sun Prairie, Wis., running from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Dick Wittman, Wittman Consulting, will facilitate the intensive two-day session. A globally-recognized expert in financial literacy, family business management and transition planning, Wittman brings decades of experience and actionable insights to help build a thriving farm business.
The program will use interactive case studies and real-world applications to deepen participants’ understanding of core topics including farm management proficiency, financial metrics and simulation, cost and managerial accounting, family business governance and growth management.

To ensure that participants get the most out of the course, each person will complete pre-class assignments designed to assess current application of the course principles. This preparation will enable everyone to more rapidly implement the strategies and tools.
