MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — The Wisconsin Supreme Court is asked to decide whether Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. will remain on the November ballot.
The Wisconsin Elections Commission requested the court Thursday to take up the case rather than wait for a ruling from the 2nd District Court of Appeals.
Attorneys for the commission say a swift resolution is needed since clerks around the state are already sending absentee ballots to voters with Kennedy’s name on them.
Kennedy wants his name off ballots in key battleground states after he suspended his campaign last month.
Monday, a Dane County judge sided with state law that says candidates must remain on the ballot unless they die.
