OAKFIELD, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Green Bay woman was arrested after leading authorities on a pursuit in Fond du Lac County with fentanyl pills in the vehicle.
Just before 5:30 p.m. Monday, Fond du Lac County authorities were notified from Dodge County authorities that a vehicle driving erratically on U.S. Highway 151, was headed their way.
Multiple callers reported the vehicle was varying in speeds and weaving all over the roadway. It also was reported to have struck a number of construction cones in Dodge County.
Once in Fond du Lac County, the vehicle was located on U.S. Highway 151 south of Thill Road in the town of Oakfield.
As the vehicle was approaching that deputy, he observed it nearly strike another vehicle due to its erratic driving.
A traffic stop was attempted but the vehicle did not stop for authorities. It continued to travel erratically while swerving all over the roadway and nearly struck a sheriff squad positioned with its emergency lights on in the median.
The pursuit came to an end as the vehicle began slowing in speed and the vehicle was boxed-in, bringing it to a safe stop.
The driver and lone occupant was a 34-year-old Green Bay woman. She was taken into custody without incident.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies located suspected fentanyl pills.
The woman is currently being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail on felony eluding, first degree recklessly endangering safety, possession with intent to deliver – schedule 1 and 2 narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating while intoxicated – first offense.
No one was injured during the pursuit and no property damage occurred as a result.
The pursuit lasted for approximately five miles.
